Having all the right equipment is great, but it is our people that make the real difference. Led by Chris Kirkham, our teams are selected for each individual project, based on locations, their technical competence and the understanding of logistics for each project to be produced.


Chris Kirkham Managing Director of NZGPL & Camera Operator
Chris's contribution to the team is made through a combination of technical competence when working behind the camera, and a range of mountain skills including rock, ice climbing, and snowboarding. His mobility and fitness on the mountains helps capture memorable images from creative angles without compromising safety.

Personal values include: being enthusiastic, passionate, and committed, - believing in “can do” and “win-win”.  Also being innovative, and a fast and intelligent decision maker.


Trinity Ludlow -  Post Production  / Creative Director -  Monarch Post
With 10 years experience in the Media Industry, Trinity has a strong knowledge of all aspects of ‘Digital Media Production’  Skills: Directing, editing, producing creative, motion graphics, operating creative software, grading footage for finished productions, FTP protocols, compressing, DVD design & authoring.   We consider Trinity to be a digital media specialist who at this stage of advancing broadcast technologies is at the top of her game. monarchpost.com


Ed Leigh Presenter / Creative Director
Ed is widely regarded as the first choice presenter and commentator for action sports events on both terrestrial and satellite TV in Europe. He has presented and alternately produced the UK's longest running sports series Ski Sunday (BBC2) for the last three years and it's adventure spin off High Altitude (BBC2) for the last year. Recently returning from Vancouver where in Feb 2010 he commentated for BBC's and Sky TV NZ Winter Olympic coverage.
For the last two years Ed has also followed the X Fighters World Series for Dave, culminating in a two hour broadcast from the London finale for the 2009 series.
He also lent his talents to Sky for their live broadcast from the NZ Winter Games.
His commentary at the Winter Olympics in 2006 for the BBC gave him cult status in the UK and through the BBC’s distribution channels he reached over 30 million people in Asia, Europe, America and Australasia.
He is the resident presenter for the UK’s longest running freesport series, the RTS award winning ‘Freesports on 4’, but his CV includes stints presenting for all the British terrestrial channels as well as being the face (if not the voice) for most of mainland Europe’s freesport content.


 


Regan Low - DOP - Camera Operator
Regan is a true kiwi ‘jack of all trades’.  His natural aptitude cannot be confined under the guise of any single label.  His creations through photography, filming, carpentry and innovative engineering reflect an adventurous character.  Regan’s diverse range of skills and experience is demonstrated in his ability to adapt to any situation with intuition and expertise.  His knack for capturing the unique image is as distinctive as his handiness for engineering the piece of equipment necessary for the job.  Regan has produced assignments that have led him extensively throughout New Zealand.  Through these explorations, his unassuming manner has lent him prospect to gain an intimate knowledge of the geography and people of this country.  Over the last ten years he has established himself as a talented camera operator and photographer in New Zealand, filming, photographing, directing and editing alternative sports, documentaries, reality TV and commercials.

Vanessa Kirkham - Production Manager
Vanessa has comprehensive experience working in diverse roles within film, media and corporate environments in New Zealand, the UK and overseas. A proven high achiever, good team player with strong interpersonal skills and the drive to exceed expectations.
Credits Include - World Of Wearable Arts, Lord Of the Rings, King Kong, Fox FM, Capital Radio Group and Ministry of Health.

 

Alan Kirkham - Company Mentor
A versatile, achievement oriented leader with over 35 years experience in international markets. Has a very successful track record working for multi-national corporations and small enterprises in various strategic, operational, and general management roles and today provides mentoring support to New Zealand based businesses. A Sales and Marketing specialist, and an innovator, whose personal attributes include a strong commercial drive, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the necessary leadership qualities to succeed in the most competitive markets. Awarded an OBE for services to the Telecommunications Industry in January 1998.


Mark Morrison - Adventure Logistics Manager / Safety Guide
Mark has worked as an alpine guide in New Zealand, Canada, the Himalayas and Antarctica. In the past 10 years Mark has been involved in a large number of expedition's through-out the world. He was successful on Khan Tengri, a majestic 7000 m mountain in the heart of the Tien Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan, and Ama Dablam, a stunning peak 6856 meters high, in the Nepalese Himalayas.
He has traveled through the Central American jungle to the remote ruins of El Mirador and sea kayaked in the wild Queen Charlotte Island of the northern Canadian coast line. For the last 2 southern hemisphere summer seasons he has trained scientists in polar survival skills for the New Zealand base in Antarctica where he was involved in many amazing field research expeditions including penguin research at Cape Crozier, glacier research in the dry valleys, sea ice research off Ross Island and many more.
In addition, Mark is a qualified ski and mountain guide with the New Zealand Mountain Guides Association and has climbed and explored extensively throughout the Southern Alps of New Zealand.


Laurel Morrison - Researcher
Laurel has worked as scientist and expedition leader for the past 7 years on projects in the remote valleys of the Canadian Coast Mountains, along New Zealand's stunning coastline and within the spectacular Southern Alps.For the past two summer seasons Laurel has joined science teams studying glaciers in Antarctica's Dry Valleys as well as completed her own Master's research on a New Zealand glacier.
